My first foray into the e-book adventure was with free e-books.net.  It takes awhile to get used to being 'out there' and that was a good first step.  The overhauled version of my first offering is almost not recognizable.  I have 16 stories and poems offered, with different photos and original artwork by Cynthia Percy as well.
I introduce the genre of Truth-fables here - stories based on real life experiences, which are designed to entertain and instruct at the same time.  We need a new vision of the future.  We need to know that we are responsible for our own experiences and that we can construct joyful and positive experiences with others and with life.  Joseph Campbell noted the need for a new mythology.  I believe that he is right and there are archetypes offered here and in the following volumes of the series, (which are not yet in publication) which will satisfy that need.  Check it out and give feedback please - either here or review on Amazon.  A print book and possibly an audio book are underway.

Update:  The subconscious subversion

So, I promised that I would update my caffeine challenge.  Caffeine is such an insidious energy drain yet it is such an integrated and all pervasive part of our culture here.  If you want to meet someone for a quick social catch up, what do you do?  You 'go for a coffee', right?
Well it has been over a month.  I am still clinging to being off caffeine.  But some days it is like walking on a greased tightrope over the Hell's Gate cavern in B.C.  What I mean by that is our society is set up so that we push ourselves beyond the limits of what is really reasonable for human beings each day.  Add to that the artificiality of our environment and our generally negative subconscious programming and it takes two potent drugs for most people to hold it together through the day - caffeine and sugar.  If you don't believe that is true - check it out!
Sugar and caffeine come in different forms but abound as any kind of pick me up offered in fast food or snack food aisles.  You can substitute fruit  (sugar but natural) or carbohydrates like potato chips for the 'white death' in its pure form.  You can have tea, or even green tea instead of coffee.
I know that the subconscious changes patterns slowly and needs an intent and not an end result.  It will subvert any attempt at conscious imposition of control.  Just when you think you are winning - like the hare and the tortoise, the subconscious sneaks by you.  As soon as I felt like I had won out over coffee, I found myself in a moment of distraction eating chocolate - AARGH!  That is caffeine!  Sneaky subconscious!
So, what to do?  Have a chat with the other 95% of your brain?  Sure, why not?  My problem was that I was trying to go 'cold turkey' on coffee without having the support of my biggest ally - my subconscious.  So, why not get the help of your friend and protector - the subconscious?  You know, the one that drives the car for you, when you were so upset about that comment from a passerby that you couldn't focus.  Obviously, the subconscious is on your side or you would have cracked up in the ditch.  So, why not put that to use?  The question is ...how?
There are different methods.  Dr. Robert Anthony has self-hypnosis as one.  Affirmations work as long as they are phrased correctly and they work best in a relaxed meditative state.  You need to acknowledge the subconscious' contribution and  simply ask for a new program based on the fact that you have new data that your old program did not take into account.  Since you know that your subconscious has your best interest at heart, surely it will work things out for your highest good.
Sound strange?  The latest research bears me out.
I'm not finished with my caffeine quest - Freudian slip that!  My NO caffeine quest or more properly my freedom from caffeine addiction quest because I believe that freedom means you are not pigeon-holed into never having caffeine.  It's that you don't have to have it.  You are free to choose.  Anyway, that is the state of this particular unit as of today.
