Connectivity

Connection is.  We like to think we are separate entities, especially us city folk.  There is some strange kind of twisted idea of freedom that we feel as a disconnected entity, earbuds, or headphones in place, plugged in and tuned out to the now, walking through the mall.  It is not really freedom at all but it is often the best we can garner.
Real connection exists, like fire, whether we believe it or not.  Gravity applies whether we want it to or not.  So does our connection with all that is and all the creatures that are.  It has been proven that transplant recipients often have strange traits which develop upon the acceptance by the body of the transplanted organ.  Some of these traits are dramatic, like being suddenly much more disposed to play the piano or do some manner of exercise, others are not so dramatic, such as a new preference for a certain food, yet they are evidence that we are connected.  Modern quantum physics has even more dramatic proof of our connection.  The experiments with photons and human DNA are very telling in this regard.  We are part of the ancient idea of the web of Indra.  The fact that what hurts one hurts all.  Conversely what helps one, helps all.  Acts of kindness and love matter and they are helping us along the road away from war and heading to peace.  On the other hand fracturing layers of the planet for a fuel which we can largely bypass the use of at the moment, or could if we would work on it, and then wondering why we are having difficult weather patterns, are these not connected?  How can we thing these things are separate?  How many atomic bomb tests and other such detrimental environmental factors have we subjected the planet to over the past half-century and yet we are astonished that things are different now than they have ever been.  It is possible that we are not the only factor in this, given the longer term cycles of the planet and the corresponding changes, yet we should not be so surprised by the lack of stability we see around us.  Many of us are decidedly unstable, with a life built around making money, as if that is man's highest aspiration.  Why would our environment not mirror our inner condition?  Wake up!  Connect with the earth, with your own heart, and with others!  Send love to everyone you know - especially the ones who are difficult to love!  That is to honour the connectivity that we all share.  Namaste!
