So you've submitted your manuscript...you're on your way to being published, right? WRONG! In between the completion of your manuscript, however long that may have taken, and the actual in print or on-line edition, lies the tangled barbed wire of proof-reading! The dreaded "lay outs"! For a creative person the drudgery of proofing word by word is death. Once I have finished my creative work for me it is done. I really don't want to revisit it again. The Misadventures of Count Percival are in the first layout version and I am trying desperately hard not to be "edited" to death. I keep reminding myself that this too will pass. On the other hand, it must be a good book if, even in the face of having to focus on spelling and grammar, I am laughing at the humour in the book. The good news is that I am not finding any major errors, and not many minor ones. That at least is gratifying. Wish me luck as I preservere with finding anything that needs changing!
